NICE TO MEET YOU!
My name is Stephanie Johnston, and I'm a creative mind with a sharp left brain.
I'm fascinated by branding and how brands have the power to connect with people. I want to help build brands that consumers naturally gravitate towards and even choose to incorporate into their personal identities.
I believe design has a place in every aspect of life and I practice it every day; from finding the perfect collar to match my dog, to color-coding the tasks on my notebook, design is in everything I do.
If you think I'd be a good fit for your team or your next project, feel free to shoot me an email and let's get the conversation going!
MORE THAN JUST A DESIGNER.
I'm a leader. I have an innate ability to genuinely connect with people and create an atmosphere of trust and respect amongst my peers and superiors. I care about community, and I believe that the best way to achieve success is by lifting those around me to create their best work.
I'm ambitious. I have big dreams for myself, and the sky is the limit; this is the fuel for my endless pursuit of self-improvement. I pour my heart into everything I do, and I refuse to deliver work I am not proud of. If I don't know something, I learn it. I'm constantly studying and learning from the biggest names in the design world like Paula Scher, Debbie Millman, Michael Beirut, and Jessica Walsh.
I'm versatile. I've had the opportunity to work in many areas of design outside of digital and print. I've managed the installation of large-scale botanical art murals for hospitality groups, developers, private residences, and galleries across the US and the world. I've constructed 3D art pieces with CAD software and CNC machines, helping other artists and designers build pieces out of wood, acrylics, and metals. I've also designed spaces and managed the execution of exhibitions during Art Basel Miami. Give me a challenge, and I'll deliver.
I'm an art nerd. I've been practicing and studying art since I can remember. I've had the opportunity to visit some of the world's best art museums like the Louvre in Paris, the Reina Sofia in Madrid, the Guggenheim in New York, and even some of the lesser-known museums like Paul Cezanne's studio in Aix-en-Provence, and Claude Monet's garden in Giverny, the birthplace of his famous Water Lillies. Fine art gives me a unique perspective that design alone cannot give me.
I'm analytical and organized. As the daughter of two engineers, I'm a natural problem-solver with incredible attention to detail. I can analyze and organize data as well as present it in a beautiful graphic. I always double-check my kerning and alignment before exporting a design and I keep an up-to-date task list to make sure I never miss a deadline.
